Expert Panel Question???
“What do you think about the five finger vibrams?”
Answer!!!

We think that barefoot running is a tool that everyone should have in their running toolbox. The Vibram five fingers and other minimalist shoes do a great job of strengthening the foot and biomechanics. We recommend that people start slowly and use them only as a supplement to their everyday running shoes. This combination will add to reducing injuries and more “bang for the buck” in the time spent training. Good luck and happy running.

Nice post, thanks for posting. Now I just need to get up off the couch and actually do something… Pleasee continue this great work and I look forward to more of your great blog posts.
When Guy talks about taking it slowly, you better listen. I bought a pair and “started slowly” by wearing them at work 3 days a week. The next thing I know my plantar fasciitis was back with a vengeance. I don’t mean for this comment to discourage the use of minimalist shoes or 5 fingers, just be careful and listen to your feet. It has been several months since and my feet are stronger than they have ever been. Bye bye plantar fasciitis.
I haven’t tried these shoes yet-I have some Bikila’s being delivered tomorrow-but I run barefoot at the gym once or twice a week, just a couple of miles per visit. I’m 46 and it feels great! I feel my ankles & calves are much stronger, and as I primarily run on trails I feel I’m already pretty strong. I know the gym track is a soft surface & the streets may be too hard on my knees, but overall I love the feel of barefoot running!
